PMAY - Empowering India Awards

The flagship scheme of ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ has been designed to meet the housing needs of urban poor and the mission is to be implemented during 2015-2022 and will provide central assistance to Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and other implementing agencies through States/UTs for developing Affordable Housing in Partnership.
“PMAY – Empowering India Awards” seeks to recognize the sincere efforts and contributions of the Central & State Govt. Agencies, Private Developers in achieving Hon’ble Prime Minister's dream of “Housing for All by 2022” through different PPP models and promoting affordable housing.

1st edition of “PMAY - Empowering India Awards” was designed to provide an opportunity for Private Developers from each state in India to participate in showing their best practices in providing affordable housing in urban areas.

We are pleased to launch the 2nd edition of ‘PMAY- Empowering India Awards’. Best affordable housing projects in different states developed by the State Housing Board and Private Developers will be selected by the Knowledge Partners and esteemed JURY panel of industry experts.

AIM AND OBJECTIVES

With an objective of acknowledging the inestimable contributions of State Govt. Agencies & Private Developers in implementation of the affordable housing scheme - Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana “PMAY- Empowering India Awards” has been constituted.

The awards are aimed at enthusing States/ Union Territories/ Private Real Estate Developers/ Financial Institutions to perform better and make the dream of house for millions a reality within the stipulated time frame.

The award scheme will recognize, motivate and facilitate the State Govt. Agencies which has adopted innovative practices in developing affordable housing under PMAY-Urban. The objective is to recognize and acknowledge exceptional contributions made by different State Govt. towards developing innovative solutions, adopting innovative technology in construction, community mobilization, slum redevelopment, policy initiatives, project monitoring etc.

PMAY - Empowering India Awards” will also be given to the Private Real Estate Developer which has shown innovation in the way they design, build and as well as offer a variety of services to their buyers - Recognizing and Benchmarking newly developed affordable housing society that showcase innovative concept, unique financing mechanisms, comfort, quality design and high-quality affordable housing.

The award scheme will also recognize the primary lending institutes - Bank, NBFC & HFC for their contribution to PMAY- Urban under Credit Link Subsidy scheme.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. The award will be given to state govt.’s /private developer’s housing project which has been developed under following verticals of PMAY (U) scheme.

  • Projects developed under ISSR (IN-SITU SLUM REDEVELOPMENT).
  • Projects developed under Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme.
  • Affordable Housing projects developed in Partnership with Public & Private sectors.
  • Housing projects under vertical 4 (BLC)
  • The project must be 70% completed.

2. The financial institution should be a Bank/NBFC/HFC registered under RBI and providing home loan under PMAY (Urban) - Credit Link Subsidy scheme.

3. Relevant documents need to be attached. Specific backup information may be of verifiable nature (documented records like engineering drawings, annual report, presentation, photos, video footage etc.) as relevant to the query.

MECHANISM

“PMAY - Empowering India Awards” endeavors to recognize excellence in Indian Housing/ Real Estate sector by executing a very standardized and rigorous methodology. Various categories and evaluation methodologies have been developed by Knowledge Partners- National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) and CBRI -CSIR, Roorkee. Applications from State Agencies, Private Builders & Financial Institutes will be sought in response to a questionnaire based on quantitative and qualitative aspects of businesses.

The entries received shall be evaluated against the attributes identified by the Knowledge Partners- National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) and CBRI -CSIR, Roorkee.

The assessment will be based on the preliminary evaluation by Knowledge Partners. They will short list three best entries in each category. The entries will be further evaluated by inviting the selected ones for presentation in front of Jury. The Jury will decide the winner in each category.

NOMINATION GUIDELINE

(A) One organization can submit multiple nominations. Each project is to be nominated separately.

  • Nomination fee (Single award category) - Rs. 25,000/- + 18% GST
  • Nomination fee (2 award categories) - Rs. 40,000/- + 18% GST
  • Nomination fee (3 award categories) - Rs. 50,000/- + 18% GST
  • Nomination fee for more than 3 award categories @ Rs. 15,000/- per category + 18% GST
  • For State Housing Board nomination fee is waived off. Delegation fee for attending conference-cum-award ceremony will be charged @ Rs. 5000/- per delegate.

(B) Organization can submit it’s application in the prescribed ‘Application Proforma’ online.

  • Step 1: Register your organization for the award scheme.
  • Step 2: Fill and submit the nomination form.
  • Step 3: Pay the nomination fee online.
